Thank you for visiting our website, we appreciate your interest in our company and our funds.
Long Beach Capital’s purpose is to create a secure financial future for our clients, through the responsible management of our investment portfolios to achieve superior long-term growth.
The ocean is one of nature’s most powerful wonders, and its surface can be both calm and tranquil or stormy and tumultuous, much like global markets. At Long Beach we take the approach of a surfer, who understands they cannot control the ocean, but instead looks to harness the ocean’s forces and ride the waves. Our job, like a surfer sitting in the deep, is to assess the market conditions and wait patiently for opportunities to form. When a new swell arrives, the surfer will start paddling, and as the wave peaks, shift their weight forward to stand and ride the wave with grace and balance. We aim to position our portfolios in this spirit and navigate the opportunities offered by global markets for the benefit of our clients.
We endeavour to think independently and to always act in the best interests of our clients.
We charge no performance fees, as we believe all investment performance should accrue to our clients.
We pay no rebates, and offer no commissions or discounts, all clients access our funds on equal terms.
Our funds have an annual management fee of 1.25% p.a. (ex VAT) or 1.44% (incl VAT).
Long Beach Capital does not provide individual investment advice.
Long Beach Capital’s investment philosophy is to buy good companies at attractive prices and manage a portfolio of businesses.
A good company has a sustainable business franchise, a long operating track record, sound balance sheet and strong operating cash flows. A company is attractively priced when trading below the present value of the company’s future cash flows.
Our investment process also takes cognisance of the macro-economic environment and how it will impact on companies’ operating environments.
We endeavour to invest responsibly on behalf of our clients, and include broader non-financial environmental, social and governance considerations in our investment process.
We keep our fund portfolios focused, typically holding between 20-30 companies, with new investment ideas considered both for possible return and contribution to risk, which we regard as the probability of a permanent loss of capital.
Equities are the best placed asset class to provide real long-term returns and our portfolios are equity-centric for this reason. In the Managed fund, property companies which can grow yields over time are preferred to bonds for the non-equity component of the fund.
We have a single investment view which is expressed through our two funds; the Long Beach Flexible Prescient Fund which is intended for after tax savings, and the Long Beach Managed Prescient Fund which is Regulation 28 compliant and intended for pre-tax savings via a retirement annuity, living annuity, endowment, preservation or provident fund.
